Irene Staron, Interior Designer and Principal at STARON design, which was voted BEST OF HOUZZ 2015 for Service, will demonstrate how to break through creative blocks, incubate innovative ideas and inspire your creative confidence. Using images curated from recent travels to Florence, Venice, and Lake Como she will show you how to expand your visual vocabulary, uncover emerging trends and develop a unique signature style.

Shelley True, President of TRUEdotDESIGN will discuss the use of social media to enhance your business in terms of strategy, branding, awareness, and fostering loyalty and building business through personal connections. She will demonstrate using actual applications of social media strategy via a variety of platforms and applications.

Neil Felder, a registered insurance broker who knows the needs of design businesses, will help you to explore and choose what insurance coverage and strategies you need to manage your risks and to protect your business, yourself, and your clients. Neil is the Programs Business Development Manager at LMS PROLINK Ltd., which has managed the CDECA Professional Liability insurance program for over 8 years.

Dyanne Wilson, Professional Photographer, will be giving a photographic tour of some of the most beautiful diplomatic residences in the nation’s capital. She will also discuss key considerations to showcase your projects using professional photography, including: choosing and hiring a photographer; how to prepare for your photo shoot; and licensing and copyright issues.

Michael Stein, a Community Team member from well-known California-based Houzz – a web platform that gathers over 16 million homeowners to click over over 300 million page views each month, will be joining us for the full afternoon.
PART 1 of the workshop will help you gain an understanding of the Houzz platform and the best practices for using Houzz as effectively as possible. You will learn how to establish and manage your company profile, upload photos, obtain reviews, and maximize your market exposure.
PART 2 of the workshop will teach you how to use some built-in tools for finding and communicating with your clients. In addition, helpful shortcuts to save time and maximize the effectiveness of the Houzz platform will be shared.
